My name is Kaily Turner and I am a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists and a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist. My counselling experience spans across different areas which include working as a Reproductive Mental Health Counselling Intern at St. Paul's Hospital in Vancouver, Addictions Counsellor for a women's second stage treatment program in Edmonton and Crossroads Healing Centre in Lethbridge, working with children, youth, adults, couples and families, with a variety of challenges and needs. Currently, in private practice, I work with a variety of ages, stages of life and issues but focus on building coping skills, increasing attachment/connections and improving communication.

My approach to counselling is to create a safe and collaborative environment for clients to feel supported, regardless of what they may be facing. I believe that everyone has the ability to grow and as such, my role in sessions is to facilitate and support clients in developing deeper self-awareness and expanding coping skills to help them regulate their bodies. In addition to this therapeutic relationship, I use an eclectic approach of skills and training, including providing psychoeducation around physiology and the neurobiology/biochemistry of mental health, as well as use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems informed skills, Narrative Exposure Therapy (Trauma), Adlerian, attachment work, Somatic Therapy, Interpersonal Neurobiology, solution focused, strengths based, and mindfulness techniques.

Another area I am passionate about is teaching. I teach psycho-educational workshops to different groups in the community. I have always had a heart for supporting individuals of all ages and love inspiring and encouraging others to see their full potential.

Outside of work I am married and have two daughters. In my free time I play a few instruments (mostly the bass guitar), paint (watercolor and gouache), travel, exercise, love to drink coffee, eat great food and love spending time with my family and friends.
